Ben Lomond in Winter above Loch Ard

Stay Self Catering in The Hayloft at Forth House and get in to the great outdoors!

Within a 10 minute walk, you can be deep in the woods of The Queen Elizabeth Forest Park. Discover tumbling rivers and crystal clear streams, and the traffic free south shore of quiet Loch Ard. Follow the roads deeper into the forest and you will be rewarded with tranquility, spectacular views and a rich variety of plant and animal life. Whether at the height of summer or the depth of winter, the scenery is breathtaking!

For energetic hill walkers, Ben Lomond, Ben Venue and Ben Ledi are close by, with many other Munros (over 3000 ft) and Corbetts (over 2500ft) within easy reach.

Many routes throughout the forest are ideal for cycling too, and cycle hire is readily available. The Millennium National Cycle Route 7 passes through Aberfoyle on its way between Glasgow and Inverness.

For The Hayloft we have Walkers and Cyclists Welcome certification from VisitScotland to meet your walking and cycling needs.

Go fishing on the local rivers and lochs, or try sailing, canoeing or windsurfing on the quiet waters of Loch Ard.
